Jamie Lee Curtis and Arnold Schwarzenegger, stars of the 1994 film True Lies, reunited at Amazon's Upfront event in New York City. The reunion took place during Schwarzenegger's presentation, where he was promoting his upcoming Christmas movie with Amazon MGM Studios, The Man with the Bag. Curtis surprised the audience by joining Schwarzenegger on stage.
Schwarzenegger playfully remarked on Curtis' recent appearance on 60 Minutes, acknowledging the program's accurate reporting. He also joked about his age, saying, "Three decades ago I said, 'I’ll be back,' now I say, 'Ow, my back.'" Curtis, who is working with Amazon on a series titled Scarpetta, kissed Schwarzenegger during the presentation.
Schwarzenegger humorously stated, "She still has it," after the kiss. The pair famously starred in James Cameron's True Lies, an action-comedy where they played a married couple whose relationship is disrupted when Curtis' character, Helen, discovers her husband, Harry, is a secret agent.
Curtis credited Schwarzenegger for her career, recounting how he shared credit with her on the film's marketing materials. She ultimately won a Golden Globe Award for her performance in True Lies. Curtis shared an anecdote about how James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger gave her top billing in True Lies. Cameron told Curtis, 'I asked Arnold if I could put you above the title because it's a movie about a marriage, and I think it would be appropriate,' and Arnold agreed.
Following the event, Curtis and Amazon shared a photo on Instagram of her kissing Schwarzenegger's cheek, with the caption, "Some reunions hit different!"
