Are you planning to rewatch Netflix's Daredevil ahead of Born Again in March?
Are you disappointed that Mike Flanagan's Haunting series on Netflix is over?
Mike Flanagan has revealed that he will not come back for another season of The Haunting anthology series on Netflix. According to the fan-favorite horror director, that chapter of his life is over, though new TV shows on Prime Video, like a Carrie series adaptation, are in his future. I'm sad to see the horror franchise go, as The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor are some of the best original shows to come from the streamer. Still, I look forward to whatever is next for Flanagan.
When will Daryl Dixon and Rick Grimes reunite in The Walking Dead universe?
Andrew Lincoln's The Walking Dead spinoff series, The Ones Who Live, ended without a reunion between Rick Grimes and Daryl Dixon. Norman Reedus still has a few more seasons of European adventures as Daryl in his own spinoff series before calling it a day as the character. With Lincoln not having a set project to return as Rick Grimes, the actor's future in The Walking Dead universe is up in the air. After returning home, Rick could greet Daryl when Carol brings him back to Alexandria, which could happen either as Daryl Dixon's series finale or in a crossover event.
Will you be watching Dick Wolf’s newest series, On Call?
Although Dick Wolf shows can be hit or miss, he currently monopolizes many of the procedural franchises on network TV and is making his way to streaming. In his new series On Call, which will stream on Amazon Prime, the storied TV show creator will follow emergency services along with some interesting investigators. I think that I’ll likely be checking out On Call to see a different style of procedural.
What's the greatest fantasy book series of all time?
Currently, I'd have to answer this question with either The Lord of the Rings or The Wheel of Time. However, I fully believe if A Song of Ice & Fire is completed, it will easily hold my number one position. I think it takes many of the best elements of Tolkien's world and mixes them with contemporary characteristics and narrative styles, but I couldn't call an incomplete series the greatest.
Will Negan and Maggie get together in The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2?
Negan and Maggie have one of the most complex dynamics in The Walking Dead universe. While it is clear that Maggie can never forget Negan for killing Glenn, the two parted on reasonable terms in season 11. Then came Dead City, which brought back the tension between the characters. Going into season 2, there are still fans who want to see that tension go a step further, with Negan and Maggie entering a relationship. While I can see how flashes of chemistry have been there, I can't believe the two will ever get into a relationship after everything Negan did.
Is it time for Grey’s Anatomy to get rid of Meredith Grey?
Grey’s Anatomy season 21 will feature Meredith Grey despite her exit during Grey’s Anatomy season 19. Since she left, she has been a constant fixture in the series, popping in and out of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, with characters occasionally traveling to Boston to visit her. Though it’s nice to see the original main character and get updates on her, her appearances can mess with the flow of the episodes, as they seem random and have to be planned around Ellen Pompeo’s schedule. I’m conflicted when it comes to Meredith leaving the show. I would like to see her in major episodes, but I don’t think she should be in as many episodes as last season.
Do you think NCIS should redeem Ellie Bishop for the team?
It's been three years since Emily Wickersham's Ellie Bishop departed NCIS, becoming an undercover CIA agent and betraying the trust of the team by leaving without saying goodbye and being burned, as she leaked NSA files. Wilmer Valderama's Torres recently shared he was finally ready to try dating again, an indication that the show would be moving on from her entirely, but I still hope she gets some form of redemption. Considering her exit came from Wickersham's desire to move on from the role, it seems unlikely that she will ever return to the show, but it would be nice if through dialogue at the very least Ellie was redeemed in the eyes of the team.
Should Grey’s Anatomy season 21 be the medical drama’s last season?
ABC recently confirmed that Grey’s Anatomy season 21 will premiere on Thursday, September 26 at 10 p.m., a later time spot. The medical drama is also facing budget issues, leading to character exits. This begs the question of whether it’s time for Grey’s Anatomy to finally call it quits; many viewers already have. I stopped regularly watching Grey’s Anatomy briefly at the end of season 12 and only began watching the show live again when season 19 premiered with the new interns. With all the changes Grey’s Anatomy is already making, I’m worried about future seasons and what the show will do to the characters I love. I’ll keep watching Grey’s Anatomy if it continues past season, but it might not be the best decision for the series.
Would you want to see more of Young Justice?
Young Justice is one of those shows that I actively find myself missing, and I'm really hoping Max eventually picks it up for a fifth season. The season 4 ending had such a fun cliffhanger, and I'd really love to see a final showdown between the heroes and the Light, given how much time the show spent building up its antagonist. It's one of the best portrayals of the DC universe we have, and I'd happily tune in for more.
Which Roseanne character do you want to return in The Conners final season?
It's obvious that Barr won't appear in the last season of The Conners, but there are some Roseanne characters who could still pop up. Estelle Parsons is 97 now, but if possible, it'd be amazing for Bev and Jackie on good terms again. I'm on the fence over whether I want David to return. Johnny Galecki hasn't acted since The Big Bang Theory, so I'm unsure whether the actor would reprise David if he was asked. I think The Conners' ending will still be fine without David, but I'd love to see one last showdown between him and Darlene.
Do you want to see Matthew Gray Gubler’s Spencer Reid on Criminal Minds: Evolution?
While Matthew Gray Gubler has directed a few episodes of the Criminal Minds reboot, his character Dr. Spencer Reid hasn’t appeared on the show. Written off with an extended sabbatical, Reid doesn’t seem to be anyone at the BAU’s focus, but Matthew Gray Gubler alluded to the idea of coming back for the next season of the series. While I love Spencer, I don’t know if it makes sense for him to return to the BAU on a non-permanent basis.
How do you feel about David Corenswet's Superman making his DCU debut before his solo movie?
While David Corenswet's Clark Kent will make his formal debut next year in James Gunn's Superman movie, the character will actually appear beforehand. A new Creature Commandos trailer revealed that Corenswet's Superman and other DCU heroes will show up in the animated series. I think it is okay for Superman to first appear there, as the scene seems to be a vision from a possible future, thus not impacting his Superman movie but rather serving as a tease to get people excited about it.
Should Dead Boy Detectives have gotten a season 2?
Netflix's Dead Boy Detectives season 1 boasts an incredibly high Rotten Tomatoes score for both critics and audience - 92% and 91% respectively, so it was a shock that the series was canceled. Fans had been eagerly awaiting a season 2 announcement ahead of the August announcement that the series would not continue. The show expands the Sandman universe in an exciting and entertaining way, combining fantasy, mystery, romance, and the paranormal. One of the best Netflix live action series to come out recently, it absolutely should have received a season 2.
Do you think Percy will come back in The Legend of Vox Machina season 3?
The Legend of Vox Machina season 3 has just killed off one of the main characters - Percival de Rolo - in one of the most brutal scenes. As he extends mercy to Ripley, she decides to shoot him, killing him. His last word is Vex, as he imagines his time with her. This occurs in season 3, episode 7, and in episode 8, Vox Machina holds a funeral for him, making it appear that he is not coming back. Seeing as he is one of the main characters, and so well-loved, I cannot imagine a world where they do not find a way to bring him back into the series. The real question is how long are we (and Vex) going to have to live without him?
Should Landman have more high school scenes?
With Ainsley and Ryder's relationship carrying on into season 2, it'd be interesting to see the series explore high school life, akin to Friday Night Lights, a bit more. For the show's dramatic stakes to work best, Landman needs to highlight the beauty and life that exists in the Permian Basin. How better to do that than by examining the lifestyle of the youth?
Is HBO's His Dark Materials worth streaming?
HBO's His Dark Materials ran for three seasons and adapted the trilogy of books by the same name. This is an incredible series, which is, unfortunately, underrated. I admit that there is a lot of material to digest (no pun intended) in the series, which can cause some of the episodes to feel long and drawn out, but the overall story is a great combination of fantasy, sci-fi, and action-adventure. The acting is phenomenal and, if you have not read the books, there is a lot that will surprise you. I highly recommend watching this series in its entirity if you missed out on it. It really is a fantastic journey.
Will Captain America: Brave New World's length be a detriment to the movie?
News released that Brave New World is going to be just under two hours long, making it the shortest Captain America movie. The Winter Soldier and Civil War were significantly longer, but it's only six minutes shorter than The First Avenger, which makes sense, given that it's a new version of the character. Even though Anthony Mackie has been in the MCU for over a decade, a simple, straight-forward movie for his starring debut seems right.
What is truly the worst series finale of all-time?
Sticking the landing is a challenging task for any storyteller, but especially for television if a show has been running for a long time. After a recent study came out of audiences' opinions on the worst series finales of all-time, I myself thought back to those that have disappointed, and none have hurt worse than Two and a Half Men. Not only did it not deliver a meaningful send-off for its characters, but also acted as more of a petty bridge burning between Chuck Lorre and Charlie Sheen amid their feud at the time.
Will more Netflix vets appear in Daredevil: Born Again than we know of - like Jessica Jones or Luke Cage?
The Daredevil: Born Again trailer features many returning characters from the Netflix Marvel series, including Punisher, Bullseye, and of course, Kingpin. While we did not see any of the big name vets like Jessica Jones or Luke Cage in the trailer, the fact that we got so many others has me wondering what surprises are in store for viewers when the series is released. I think there is real potential that we see Jones or Cage - or both - in Daredevil: Born Again. Not only has Krysten Ritter has said in interviews that she is ready to reprise the role and loves the character, but she is a fan favorite. Even if it is just a small cameo, I am willing to bet we see her at the very least.
Do you think that was the Wendigo in the Until Dawn movie trailer?
The proper Until Dawn trailer is here and revealed that there will be a variety of terrifying threats the main characters will have to face, though one of the main ones that stood out to me was the creature near the end of the trailer that sticks its head through a wall for a jump scare. It honestly looks so much like the design of the Wendigos seen in the game, and would fit with the fact the first killer seen in the trailer is wearing a mask similar to Rami Malek's Josh from the game. However, I kind of don't want it to be a Wendigo, as I really liked the way the game built to that reveal with the establishing of that creature's lore, and it seems like the movie may not take that same route.
