'Archer and his deputies refused to evaluate variations for Wahab's bail' - Salam Mustapha alleges

The National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha, has criticised the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) for the continued detention of the former Buffer Stock CEO.
According to him, they have met the conditions set by EOCO for Abdul Hannan Wahab, but he alleged a deliberate attempt to frustrate their efforts to secure bail for the detained individual.
Speaking on Channel One TV on July 6, 2025, Mustapha stated that they had attempted to reach the Acting Executive Director of EOCO, Raymond Archer, and his deputies to review the documents required to grant bail to Wahab.
However, he said their efforts proved fruitless, as Archer did not respond to their calls.
“Why is he still being kept in this station when the conditions that you put on him have been met? Look, the valuation report that we have far exceeds the onerous bill conditions that were put on him. The sureties that we have put is more than it and everything is ready.
“Yesterday, when we finished everything and we were calling Raymond Archer, his deputies, and whoever is involved in this case to come and just go through and grant the young man bail to go home, none of them picked their phone calls,” he indicated.
Mustapha alleged that Wahab’s continued detention is intended as punishment, and he challenged EOCO to take Wahab to court if they believe he has committed any wrongdoing.
“So, he's been left there as punishment for exactly what we don't know. That's why I'm saying that if he has done something wrong, take him to court,” he added.
He further disclosed the party’s decision to mobilise themselves to storm the premises of the EOCO to protest and demand the release of Wahab on Monday, July 7, 2025.
Reports of Wahab’s arrest by EOCO went rife on June 25, 2025, with his arrest linked to alleged financial and procurement-related infractions during his tenure.
As of the time of filing this report, he remains in custody for failing to meet bail conditions amounting to GH¢60million.
