Summer in the South means many things: beach days and lake swims; porch swings and icy cold sweet tea; pool parties and boat rides. Wherever you are in the South, from Texas to the Carolinas to Memphis, summertime also means one thing: backyard barbecues with all the meats and all the fixings.

However, as this summer is potentially one of the hottest summers ever, you’ll be forgiven for not wanting to sweat it out over the coals. Luckily, Arby’s is testing a new menu item that just might help sate your barbecue cravings, no barbecue required.

The fast food chain is making good on its motto of “we have the meats” by testing a brand new meaty product to add to its menu— steak nuggets. The new addition, which would probably pair perfectly with their potato cakes, was spotted by food blogger Markie_devo, who shared that the brand is currently testing not only steak nuggets, but also a steak bowl, with steak nuggets over mac and cheese, as well as a steak sandwich topped with Havarti cheese.

The folks over at Allrecipes.com spoke to Arby’s and got the inside scoop on the possible new menu items. Turns out that the steak bites and entrees are being tested at just a handful of locations, but luckily, three of those outposts are in the South, specifically Orlando and Jacksonville, as well as Tulsa, Oklahoma.

According to Allrecipes, steak lovers can pick up the nuggets in either "five- and nine-piece" orders and have their barbecue fix minus all the effort and the heat.
