Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) kicks off today (June 9) in Cupertino and runs until June 13, 2025. The biggest highlight is the opening keynote, where Apple will reveal new software updates across all its platforms. The keynote starts at 10:00 am Pacific Time (10:30 pm in India) at Apple Park.
The event can be watched live on apple.com, the Apple TV app, or Apple’s YouTube channel. If you miss it, a recording will be available after the stream concludes.Developer sessions will continue through the week, but the main announcements are expected during tonight’s keynote.
Apple is set to unveil big changes at this year’s WWDC, especially to its iPhone software. However, the most surprising part might be the name.

Instead of following the usual numbering, Apple is expected to call the next update iOS 26, to match the year 2026, as first reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. This change will apply across all platforms, so macOS 26, watchOS 26, and more can be expected.

Leaks suggest iOS 26 will bring one of Apple’s biggest design updates ever. Gurman had reported back in March about plans to refresh icons, menus, and a layout that looks more like the Apple Vision Pro — clean, modern, and more consistent across devices.

Rumours hint at a desktop-style mode for iPhones with USB-C. It could let you plug your iPhone into a monitor and use it like a Mac or iPad with multitasking features mimicking Apple’s Stage Manager multitasking system.Apple may introduce an AI-powered system to boost battery life. It would learn users’ usage patterns and adjust power settings in the background, helping the phone last longer without needing to do anything.

A standout feature could be live translations through AirPods. Your iPhone would listen to a language and instantly translate it in your ear, similar to what’s already available in Google Pixel Buds or Samsung Galaxy Buds.
