Another 'Catch of the Year' nominee added by Wasington OF - NewsBreak
It has been an incredible Major League Baseball season for catches against the outfield wall, and we are not even to the All-Star Break yet. On Wednesday night, Washington centerfielder Jacob Young added his name to the list.
Young timed the ball perfectly off the bat of Detroit Tigers designated hitter Riley Greene, extending his glove out and making the catch just before it disappeared over the fence.

Almost as quickly as he made the spectacular play, Young fired the ball back in, walking nonchalantly back to his spot in center for the next play.
The 25-year-old from Ponte Verda, Florida drove in a run from the No. 9 spot in the lineup as the Nationals scored a 9-4 win in the nightcap of a day/night doubleheader with the Tigers.
On the season, Young is hitting .244 with 12 RBI, 21 runs scored, seven doubles and a triple. Oh, and one spectacular, highlight-worthy catch to boot.
