Angel Reese Had Words for Caitlin Clark Foul After Sky's Loss to Fever

Published 16 hours ago2 minute read

The Chicago Sky got off to a rough start in the 2025 WNBA season. New head coach Tyler Marsh and his players had no answer for Caitlin Clark and the Fever as they fell 93 to 58 on opening night.

Reese was up to her usual tricks, as she contributed a 12-point, 17-rebound double-double to begin her sophomore campaign. Unfortunately, she did not have much help, as Ariel Atkins was the only other Sky in double figures.

While the loss was a bit tough to stomach for Chicago, there was also a dramatic moment in the game in which Caitlin Clark got called for a flagrant foul after getting tangled up with Reese.

These two players have a storied and tumultuous history, so the tensions surrounding this play were heightened. Fans reacted strongly to the play, with both Sky and Fever fans weighing in on the scuffle.

However, Reese put all notions to rest during the Sky's post game press conference. She was mature in how she spoke about the issue, giving Clark grace for her involvement.

"Basketball play. Refs got it right. Move on," Reese said when asked about the play.

Clark was difficult for Coach Marsh and the Sky to contain on opening night. The 2024 First-Team All-WNBA player finished with a triple-double, recording 20 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds. She also contributed four blocks.

The Sky will have a bit of time to rest before their next contest, as they do not play again until Thursday, May 22 against the New York Liberty. Things will not get any easier for Marsh and his team, but they refuse to let one game define them so early in the season.
