Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has strongly denied allegations circulating on social media that he consulted a native doctor to boost his chances of winning re-election in the upcoming governorship poll scheduled for November 8, 2025.

The claims, fuelled by a viral video clip, suggested that Soludo sought spiritual help to secure a second term.

However, in a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, the governor dismissed the reports as “malicious and completely false.”

According to the statement, the footage in question was misrepresented. It was taken during a recent government-hosted meeting with Anambra-based content creators, not a spiritual consultation.

The interactive session, facilitated by the governor’s Special Assistant on New Media, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, aimed to foster partnerships between the government and the creative sector.

“One of the content creators performed a comic skit in the character of a native doctor as part of a talent showcase,” the statement clarified. “It was purely entertainment, not a traditional consultation.”

The government expressed disappointment over political opponents using entertainment content to spread misinformation. It reiterated Soludo’s reliance on performance and policy—not superstition—for electoral success.

Projects such as the recently launched Solution Fun City, part of Soludo’s broader economic diversification plan, were highlighted as evidence of his commitment to development.

The statement urged the public and media to verify information before sharing and warned against the dangers of politically motivated disinformation.

“Governor Soludo remains focused on delivering his Solution Agenda and will not be distracted by deliberate falsehoods,” Aburime added.
