Anambra Governor Engages Citizens in US

According to a statement released by his Press Secretary, Mr. Christian Aburime, the town hall meeting in Maryland was part of an ongoing global tour designed to involve Anambra citizens abroad in the governance of their home state. The event is scheduled for Sunday, July 6.

The governor’s approach, Aburime noted, stands in contrast to the typical pre-election frenzy by opposition candidates who are currently in full campaign mode. “While others focus on political rhetoric and campaign promises, Governor Soludo is reporting back to the people with verifiable results,” he added.

This U.S./North America engagement follows similar town hall meetings held earlier this year in Lagos, Abuja, and the United Kingdom. At each event, the governor has presented his administration’s achievements, addressed concerns from citizens, and shared his vision for the future of Anambra State.

Since taking office in 2022, Soludo has pursued what he calls the “Solution Agenda,” anchored on economic transformation, infrastructure development, human capital investment, and security. According to the statement, his administration has recorded significant progress in areas such as massive road construction, education reform, urban renewal, youth empowerment, and overall economic growth.

Aburime emphasised the strategic importance of engaging the Diaspora, describing them as “critical stakeholders in Anambra’s development.”

He noted that many Anambra indigenes living in the U.S. and Canada are investors, professionals, and philanthropists whose involvement can help accelerate progress in the state.

As the 2025 governorship election approaches, the administration maintains that its priority remains on delivering results, not making political noise.

“In the end, what matters most to the people is performance, not propaganda. And that is what Governor Soludo is putting forward,” Aburime concluded.
