AMSTERDAM (Netherlands) - Amsterdam Rabobank (NED) thrilled the local crowd with a 2-0 display on Day 1 of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Amsterdam 2025 on May 17.

The Dutch World Tour winners not only proved just why they’re one of the top dogs in the circuit, but also why they’re absolute box-office viewing.
They started out pool play with a contentious battle against Puerto Rican side Carolina. Despite a quick start to action for the Dutch side, they quickly saw momentum shift the other way. With time ticking down and a 4-point deficit standing in their way. Clutch buckets from Worthy de Jong and Bryan Alberts pulled things close, but it was the defensive efforts of Jan Driessen and the clutch shot-making of Maarten Bouwknecht that sealed the game in favor of the home side, 21 - 20.
They followed up their blockbuster start with a frenzied tie against neighbouring side Utrecht that saw Amsterdam come out on top 20 - 14 victors. De Jong led his side in scoring with 8 points.
They will now compete on Day 2 in hopes of sealing a prestigious stop win on home turf.
Other teams to go unbeaten are Vienna (AUT), Liman (SRB) and Hangzhou (CHN) who dominated in their pools to seal their places to the knockout rounds.

NICO KALTENBRUNNER (Vienna)
Nico Kaltenbrunner was in burner mode in pool play for Vienna. They started with a clinical 22-13 victory over Vračar with the Austrian star leading the way with a team-high 8 points.
He took a step forward in their next tie against a contending Riffa side where he put up a whopping 11 points in their 21 - 15 win. The incisive Kaltenbrunner played a pivotal role in their 2-0 display on day 1 as they get set to continue on their momentum tomorrow.
