Mr Vasse will formally assume his role in September 2025, taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Authority, including the implementation of its budget, oversight of human resources, and execution of operational activities.

With over 20 years of experience across EU agencies (ESMA, SRB) and advisory services, Mr Vasse brings deep expertise in the EU financial regulatory framework, supervisory convergence, and the operational management of EU bodies. In his current role as a Partner at Promontory, an IBM Consulting entity, he has advised major European banks on navigating complex regulatory and supervisory challenges. He previously served for more than a decade as Head of Operations at ESMA. This background positions him well to support the AMLA Executive Board in steering core decisions related to planning, budgeting, IT, and security, as well as in overseeing the Authority’s daily operations.

"We are thrilled to welcome Mr Vasse to our leadership team," said . "His experience and vision align strongly with our goals, and he will be an excellent sparring partner in ensuring that AMLA operates efficiently, transparently, and in full accordance with its mandate—both during the build-up phase and once fully operational."

commented: “I am truly honored to take on this role at such a crucial time. I thank the Board for their trust. It is a privilege and a responsibility I truly value to help fight financial crime and build this new European authority. I look forward to this new adventure—and to working closely with EU and national authorities to make Europe safer and stronger."
