AMLA Appoints Juan-Manuel Vega Serrano as Vice-Chair - AMLA

Frankfurt, 13 June 2025 — The Executive Board of the Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA) has today appointed Juan-Manuel Vega Serrano as the Vice-Chair of the Authority.

Juan-Manuel Vega Serrano brings over three decades of experience in public service, with a career dedicated to anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CFT). A senior member of Spain’s higher civil service since 1992, Mr. Vega Serrano has held several prominent roles in shaping AML/CFT policy both nationally and internationally.

His previous positions include serving as AML/CFT regulator at the Spanish Treasury, Head of Spain’s AML/CFT Supervisory Authority and Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), and President of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

As Vice-Chair, Mr. Vega Serrano will support AMLA’s mission to strengthen the EU’s AML/CFT framework.
