Alejandro Garnacho made controversial comments after Man United lost the Europa League final to Tottenham Hotspur.

He complained about his playing time, appearing to direct a dig at his coach, Ruben Amorim.

"I played every round to help the team reach the final, and today I only got 20 minutes… I don’t know," he told ESPN Argentina via MEN. "I’m going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens next. This season was (expletive), losing the final and not beating anyone in the league."

A few days later, the Athletic reported that Amorim told Garnacho to find a new club using harsh words in front of his teammates.

Interestingly, the Argentine is part of the club's post-season trip to Asia and played the entire second half in their unexpected defeat to ASEAN All-Stars.

Amad Diallo "hopes" Garnacho stays. He was speaking ahead of their clash against Hong Kong.

“Alejandro is a really good player, we need good players in the team. I know Garna really well. I hope to have Garna next season. (It) is not really a big issue for the team," he said via the Athletic.

Garnacho has played 40 out of 42 Amorim's games and registered four goals and six assists. His performances were underwhelming under Amorim, attracting criticism from fans

At one point, after being substituted, he went straight to the dressing room but later apologised by treating the team to lunch.

The 20-year-old joined the club in 2020 from Atletico Madrid and has made 144 appearances. He signed a new Man United deal in April 2023 that will keep him at the club until 2028, but it seems he will leave before it expires.

“When I joined this incredible club, I dreamt of achieving my debut, playing at Old Trafford, scoring my first goal and winning trophies with this badge on my chest," he said after signing his new deal.

He was linked with a move to Napoli in January, but a deal did not materialise.

Earlier, reported on billions of shillings Man United missed out on after their loss in the Europa League.

If they won, they would've secured an additional £10.95 million (KSh 1.9 billion), but will bank £5.9 million (KSh 1 billion) as runners-up.

They will also miss out on £15.7 million (KSh 2.7 billion) from the Champions League phase.
