All set the new FIFA Club World Cup, which kicks off on Sunday in USA

The 1st edition of the expanded FIFA Club World Cup will get underway on Sunday, 15th June, until 13th of July in USA.

Africa is represented by 12-time CAF Champions League winners Al Ahly  SC from Egypt, 4-time African champions Esperance from Tunisia, 3-time champions Wydad Casablanca of Morocco and 1-time continental champions Mamelodi Sundowns from South Africa.

The Asia Football Confederation has reigning champions Al Ain and Al Hilal, both from Saudi Arabia, and South Korea’s Ulsan Hyundai and Urawa Red Diamonds of Japan.

The CONCACAF region has 5 representatives: CF Monterrey and CF Pachuca, both from Mexico, and Inter Miami, Los Angeles FC and Seattle Sounders, all from the USA.

CONMEBOL has six teams among them: 4 from Brazil (Fluminense, Flamengo, Botafogo and Palmeiras) and 2 from Argentina (River Plate and Boca Juniors).

Auckland City of New Zealand is the sole representative of the Oceania region.

The UEFA region enjoys a giant representation with 12 teams: Inter Milan and Juventus from Italy, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund of Germany, Manchester City and Chelsea from England, Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid, all from Spain, Benfica and FC Porto from Portugal, FC Salzburg of Austria and reigning champions Paris St Germain from France.

Al Ahly SC will get the tournament underway on Sunday morning against Inter Miami at the Hard Rock Stadium in Group A, before Bayern Munich faces off against Auckland City FC in Group C, while PSG will battle Atletico Madrid in Group B in the last fixture of the day.

63 matches of the tournament will be staged across 12 venues in 11 different cities in the United States of America.

The winners will earn up to 125 USD million, with USD 1 billion of prize money going to the 32 participating clubs and a target of USD 250 million in solidarity for club football across the world.
