The teams being announced gives fans and media talking points for a few days. The 1st team had four obvious players on it. Only Donovan Mitchell’s spot was up for grabs. LeBron James and Anthony Edwards were other candidates for the final 1st-team spot. Speaking of James, it was his 21st consecutive season earning All-NBA honors. The level of consistency he has exhibited throughout his career is staggering.
Another veteran, Curry, was named to an All-NBA team for the 11th time in his illustrious career. Other than James and Curry, the remainder of the players are in the primes of their careers. That illustrates the good shape the league is in.
There are still a few members from these teams left in the NBA Playoffs. Gilgeous-Alexander and Williams represent the Oklahoma City Thunder. Edwards is the lone representative from the Minnesota Timberwolves. Haliburton represents the Pacers while Towns and Brunson are New York’s contributions. The All-NBA teams represented the past, present, and future of a league in great hands.
