The National Veterans Affairs Department is embracing artificial intelligence (AI) to revolutionize veteran services. An AI-driven competition, the 2025 National Veterans Affairs ‘Prompthon,’ sought innovative solutions to improve both administrative efficiency and the quality of care provided to veterans.

The term Prompthon is a blend of prompt and marathon, signifying an intensive idea contest focused on developing AI-based solutions. This event encourages the creation of AI-driven tools to address specific challenges within veteran affairs.

The National Veterans Affairs Department conducted a forum in November focusing on the Veterans’ Digital Innovation direction and strategy at the National Assembly, setting the stage for these AI initiatives.

The Veterans Affairs Department plans to integrate the most effective ideas from the competition, including those from the winning projects, into its operations. This move aims to enhance both the efficiency of veteran governance and the quality of services provided.
