Still, there are many other Hollywood stars who have yet to join the MCU.

Davis has also played memorable characters, such as the lawyer Annalise Keating in How to Get Away with Murder, the domestic worker Aibileen Clark in The Help, the homemaker Rose Maxson in Fences, the warrior leader General Nanisca in The Woman King, and the government agent Amanda Waller in the DCEU and the DCU. Apart from standout performances by Davis, a common quality of these roles is each of the characters' unwavering personality.

While Viola Davis could play a similar role in the MCU, Marvel would benefit more from a different type of character. Davis' more physical performances in The Woman King and G20 make her a good candidate for physically strong heroes or villains like Shard, Wildstreak, Frenzy, Pathway, Lightbright, Longstrike, Silhouette, and Oya, among others.

James Gunn himself made a seamless transition from the MCU to the DCEU before coming back to wrap up the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise in the MCU and then spearheading the DCU reboot immediately after. If is interested, she could have recurring roles in the MCU and the DCU simultaneously.
