Led by President William Ruto, officials have expressed confidence in Raila’s victory, predicting a landslide win in the election scheduled for February 2025.

Speaking on Citizen TV on Sunday, February 2, Environment Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale reaffirmed Raila’s credentials as a Pan-Africanist, insisting that his campaign has been robust and well-executed.

“Raila is winning. Why do you want him to lose? The kind of campaign President Ruto has done for our candidate shows how critical this office is for Kenya. Raila has done enough groundwork—nine heads of state were here last week, and all of them confirmed their votes,” Duale stated.

He further dismissed claims that some political figures are reluctant to see Raila exit local politics, arguing that his departure could disrupt certain careers.

"There are people who use Raila as a Guinea pig in local politics. Without him, some political careers will collapse," he added.

Duale revealed that Raila has actively engaged with nearly 40 out of 49 eligible countries, securing significant endorsements. He emphasised that the former prime minister needs at least 32 votes to clinch the position.

“Aside from the six nations barred from voting, Raila has visited almost 40 countries. He already has backing from at least 11 Eastern African nations,” he noted.

Additionally, Duale downplayed concerns that the ongoing conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) could impact Raila’s chances, asserting that President Felix Tshisekedi’s vote remains just one among many.

With the growing support from African leaders and a well-coordinated campaign, Raila's path to the AUC chairmanship appears increasingly promising.
