Ace Combat 8 has not been revealed yet, and fans are wondering when it will be shown
It has been six years since Skies Unknown, and , the series’ highly anticipated new installment.
Back in 2021, it was revealed that the next Ace Combat game was being developed, but Project Aces has not shared anything since then. That’s not to say that there has been no new Ace Combat content. After all, aside from the Top Gun DLC back in 2022, the game’s Deluxe Edition for the Switch was released just last year.
Then, just a few days ago, Bandai Namco and Project Aces shared a special video as part of the franchise’s 30th anniversary celebration.
This video shared some intriguing updates, including the Ace Combat official website revamp. What’s more, the video also ended with a look at Project Aces seemingly working on the next series entry.
On the website, fans can see the series’ official timeline, as well as new anniversary visuals. One of these features emblems of the main Ace Combat squadrons. This image also has a gap on the bottom right, most likely for the next Ace Combat game’s squad.
Given that these updates were shared just days before the Bandai Namco Summer Showcase 2025, fans were hoping that Ace Combat 8 would finally be revealed there. Sadly, the stream ended with no new Ace Combat trailer; there wasn’t even any hint or mention of the next game.
Unsurprisingly, many fans were disappointed by the lack of update, though some are theorizing that if the next game will be revealed, it would be at this year’s Tokyo Game Show or Game Awards.
While this lack of information isn’t ideal for fans, the recent hints from Project Aces are still pretty good indicators that the next Ace Combat game will be revealed soon. Hopefully, we get to see it sooner rather than later. Hopefully, we also see remasters of the previous games, especially the three PS2-era games.
