AC Milan have expressed their interest in signing Almeria full-back Marc Pubill this summer (h/t Gianluca Di Marzio).

The Rossoneri have been among the busiest teams in the transfer window. Having secured the deals for Samuele Ricci and Luka Modric, they continue to target more names.

Signing a right-back is on the wishlist following the departure of Alessandro Florenzi, whose contract expired last week.

Milan signed Kyle Walker on loan in January as a short-term solution, and he has returned to Manchester City.

Fikayo Tomori filled in as a right-back on a few occasions last season, but the Rossoneri need a reliable option.

Pubill has emerged as a potential target for Milan, who have been impressed by his rapid rise in recent years.

The 22-year-old caught the eye after playing a pivotal role in Spain winning the Olympic gold medal last year.

He was also part of the Spanish squad that reached the quarter-finals of the European U-21 Championship this year before losing to eventual winners England.

Despite Almeria failing in their bid for promotion to La Liga last season, Pubill has been a consistent performer for the Spanish outfit.

The interest from Barcelona speaks volumes about the full-back’s potential.

The La Liga giants are planning a move for Pubill and then loaning him to Real Betis, similar to Emerson Royal’s deal in 2019. He is valued at €15 million.

Milan are focused on attacking and midfield reinforcements at the moment.

They are pushing to sign Club Brugge’s Swiss midfielder Aydon Jashari after submitting an improved offer, but are yet to get a green light from the Belgian outfit.

Dusan Vlahovic and Mateo Retegui are among the potential striker targets.
