Abla Gomashie pledges financial support for best BECE candidates

Alao (VR,) June 11, GNA – Madam Abla Dzifa Gomashie, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ketu South Constituency in the Volta Region, has pledged to provide financial support to pupils who would excel well in the ongoing 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
The MP commended the BECE candidates for their endurance during the period of Basic Education and said the crucial final examination would determine and reshape them for the future.
Madam Gomashie, who is also the Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, in her goodwill message to the BECE candidate in the Ketu South Municipality, copied to the Ghana News Agency, announced that GHC50,000 would be set aside to be shared among students who would achieve a single aggregate results in the examination.
“The gesture is aimed at motivating the students to work harder and strive for excellence in their exams, and this will go a long way to encourage and awaken the spirit of learning in the candidates,” she said.
Madam Gomashie explained that the challenges that many students faced as adolescents in today’s world include peer pressure, economic realities, and the influences of social media and urged the candidates to stay focused and committed to their studies despite numerous challenges for brighter future.
She stated that education was an importance and powerful tool for growth and development which also opens doors to greater opportunities and enables individuals to take charge of their destiny, and parent, teachers and the general public must support all candidates physically, spiritually, emotionally and psychologically for a successful examination.
“I urge you students to obey all the rules and regulations before and during the examination period, set aside distractions and concentrate on your studies, revise and prepare diligently for the exams.”
Madam Gomashie further wished the candidates a good luck in their examinations and prayed for God’s guidance and protection for a smooth exercise while her message was seen as warmth and affection which reflected on the commitment to the students’ well-being and success.
She appealed to various invigilators and supervisors to exercise a high level of professionalism before, during and after the examinations and avoid intimidation and maltreatment that would put fear and panic into the candidates during the exam period.
Some BECE candidates GNA spoke with expressed optimism and pledged to excel well in the exams while others also described the MP’s financial support as a positive gesture that demonstrated her investment and commitment in their future and the desire to see them succeed.
The GNA also gathered that some 4,168 candidates in Ketu South Municipality would sit for the 2025 BECE which would commence on Wednesday, June 11 and expected to end on June 18, and the pledged of support by the MP would enable the candidates to feel more confident and motivated to achieve their goals.
