The Pittsburgh Steelers have made many moves this offseason, including the signing of Aaron Rodgers.

Moving on from their star wideout in George Pickens and consistent running back in Najee Harris, the Steelers went on to acquire the future Pro Football Hall Of Famer and elite wideout DK Metcalf.

Their job is not finished.

While Rodgers was present at the Steelers minicamp, T.J. Watt remained absent amid contract negotiations.

Despite the perennial Pro Bowler and former Defensive Player of the Year not being around, Rodgers seems optimistic Watt will be with the team in time for Week 1 based on its culture.

He made that abundantly clear on his latest appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.

Aaron Rodgers said on “The Pat McAfree Show.”

“And once we get our Hall of Fame outside rush backer signed, you’re talking about another guy who’s a leader.”

Rodgers’ brief comments on Watt symbolize the overall mood regarding Watt’s contract situation.

The former Defensive Player of the Year is heading into the final year of his four-year, $112 million deal but is looking for another lucrative extension that will pay him his worth.

Since 2023, Watt has the second-most sacks in the NFL with 30.5.

Watt’s value is at an all-time high.

Aaron Rodgers has won one Super Bowl in his career. He led the Green Bay Packers to victory in Super Bowl XLV.

He has been close a few times but could never get back over the hump to making it happen.

Now, he is on a Steelers team that might have the right ingredients to finally get him to the big game.

He passed for 3,897 yards and 28 touchdowns in 2024, making his return from the season-ending Achilles injury suffered in his first game with the Jets in September 2023.
