While speaking on Raj Shamani’s podcast, Khan opened up about what might be his final cinematic undertaking: Mahabharat. The actor-producer revealed that work on the ambitious project will commence once Sitaare Zameen Par is out.

Calling Mahabharat his “dream project,” Khan said, “I feel like that’s one project which, once I’ve done it, might leave me with the feeling that there’s nothing more I can do after that. Because the material is like that — it’s layered, emotional, vast in scale, and full of grandeur. Everything that exists in the world can be found in Mahabharat.”

The 59-year-old star further explained that the epic’s depth and complexity may leave him artistically fulfilled to a degree where he may not feel the need to pursue more stories. “Maybe after doing Mahabharat, I’ll feel like I don’t want to do anything else. I don’t know yet,” he added, reflecting on the emotional impact the project may have on him.

He also touched on the idea of continuing to work until the very end, referencing veteran actor A.K. Hangal. “I hope I die with my shoes on. Like AK Hangal ji used to say, ‘I want to die while working.’ That’s what all of us wish for,” Khan said.

Meanwhile, Sitaare Zameen Par is being produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions and directed by R. S. Prasanna. The film’s screenplay is written by Divy Nidhi Sharma, with music by the trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya. Alongside Aamir and Genelia, the cast includes young talents Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.

Co-produced by Aparna Purohit and Ravi Bhagchandka, the film aims to blend sports and emotion while spotlighting specially-abled children and their achievements.
