Here’s a list of things to do the weekend of May 30-June 1, 2025:
SHUCKED (Belk Theater), through Sunday: The Tony Award-winning farm-to-fable musical comedy is making its Queen City debut. It’s the hilarious original story of an unlikely hero trying to save her hometown when their prized crop, corn, starts dying. It’s the unexpected tale that will have audiences laughing and crying. Don’t miss Broadway’s corn-iest hit. Tickets start at $41.
Armenian Food Festival (St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church), Friday to Sunday: Get a taste of Armenia right here in Charlotte. From fire-grilled chicken and beef kebabs to homemade pastries, get an authentic food-filled experience while celebrating Armenian culture. While you eat, enjoy live music and cultural performances. The festival is open 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free.
Keith Urban (PNC Music Pavilion), Friday 7 p.m.: The Grammy Award-winning country star is bringing his High and Alive World Tour to the Carolinas. Keith kicked off the tour just last week, giving audiences here one of the first few looks at his new live show. Named after his latest album “High,” you’ll hear a mix of his new songs plus his biggest hits. He might even throw in a cover or two. Tickets start at $49.
Aviation City Grand Opening (Sullenberger Aviation Museum), Saturday 9 a.m.: The Sullenberger Aviation Museum is opening a brand-new exhibit, and you’re invited to come check it out. This new addition explores our own city’s history with aviation including the rapid growth of the Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Once inside, you’ll find five new aircraft and a simulation experience. Entry is included with your admission to the museum.
AIDS Walk Charlotte (Truist Field), Saturday 9 a.m. to noon: Tie those laces for the Carolinas’ largest HIV fundraising walk. Celebrating 29 years here in Charlotte, the fundraiser has raised over $3.6 million to date helping fight the stigma and bringing care and support to those in need. The family-friendly 1-mile walk is open to all ages. There is no fee to register but participants who raise at least $35 will get a t-shirt.
Optimist Hall Kickoff to Summer, Saturday 4 to 10 p.m.: Get ready for more sun and fun at the popular food hall. Bring the family for face painting, balloon twisters, caricature artists and sidewalk art. There will be plenty of live music and a DJ to complete those summer vibes. If you’re hungry, just step inside where you’ll find over two dozen diverse restaurants and shops to fill up any appetite. Admission is free.
Metallica (Bank of America Stadium), Saturday 6 p.m.: The legendary rock stars are extending their record-breaking M72 World Tour and it’s coming here to Bank of America Stadium. Featuring their iconic and massive in-the-round stage, Metallica’s latest production is a must-see for fans. If you’ve ever wanted to hear “Enter Sandman” performed live, now’s your chance. Tickets start at $116.
Front Porch Sunday (Rail Trail South End), Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.: If it’s the first Sunday of the month, you know where to go. South End comes alive with an outdoor block party featuring almost 100 local vendors selling just about everything you need. From homemade leather goods to hand-poured candles, find a gift for a loved one or even yourself while shopping small. As you walk the trail, enjoy the summer sounds of local artists. Admission is free.
MONOPOLY LIFESIZED: Travel Edition (Blume Studios), ongoing: It’s game time! The classic board game gets a life-sized upgrade in this new immersive experience at Blume Studios. With similar gameplay to an escape room, this family-friendly game is an hour-long of fast-paced fun. See familiar properties like Boardway, Park Place and Water Works and avoid the dread “Go to Jail” card in this larger-than-life adventure. Tickets start at around $20 with discounts available for groups.
