5 MCU Roles I Want Shah Rukh Khan to Play if the Reports Are Really True
Disney has always wanted to expand its audience globally, and lately it has been trying more to do so. The company owns Marvel Studios and the superhero powerhouse has been following the steps of its parent company for some time now with its diverse superheroes and cultural inclusion. Lately, a rumor has spread like wildfire that Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan might be joining the MCU soon.
Shah Rukh Khan is one of the biggest names in the eastern movie industry, and including him in the most popular movie franchise at the moment won’t be a bad deal. However, there has been no confirmation from either side, which has led fans to speculate more about the potential roles that Khan might play. Let’s explore 5 roles that Shah Rukh Khan should play in the MCU if he joins the scene.

After Anthony Mackie showed interest in Shah Rukh Khan joining Avengers, X account Marvel Leaks stirred the rumors further by posting a now-deleted tweet that said- “Shah Rukh Khan (SRK) is Rumored to be in early talks with Marvel Studios for a role in a future project (NOT AVENGERS DOOMSDAY).”
Now, although not an Avenger, Mephisto is someone who has been speculated to appear since WandaVision. Now, after Secret Wars and the soft reboot of the whole MCU, there have been talks that the studio would like to explore the magical, supernatural, and cosmic side of its superhero universe. In that case, Mephisto’s introduction will just be as necessary as it gets.
Now, as much as Khan is popular for his positive roles, there is a separate fanbase for his negative, grey characters. The way he hides his hostile intentions behind his suave demeanor is quite suitable for a role like Mephisto.
He has a history of portraying characters with dual faces, and the Don series and Jawan are proof of that. Moreover, Mephisto can come in any form, which won’t force Khan to appear in his red-devilish persona, something that would not suit him at all.

Shah Rukh Khan as Nathaniel Essex aka Mr. Sinister in the MCU will be another bold casting choice. In comics, Essex is one of the greatest geneticists in the world and he gains his powers after Apocalypse mutates him. Essex has a tragic past, which kind of compelled him to become “Sinister”.
Mr. Sinister is a master manipulator and has a sadistic persona that he often tries to hide with his charm. He is not just pure evil as in his mind, he sees his actions are necessary for “genetic perfection”. He is an immortal mutant with a genius-level intellect, which again makes Khan a strong fit for the role, as the actor is well known for his cerebral, driven characters.
It’s also believed that MCU will be focusing on mutants after the end of the multiversal saga, and it will be the right time for Khan to jump into the role.

Beyonder is quite a complex character. He is partly a god and partly a curious observer. Sometimes he likes to stay far from whatever is happening in the universe, sometimes he gets deeply engaged. He has the power to manipulate reality, travel through time, resurrect from the dead, and all other godly powers one can think of. In comics, he had a big role in Secret Wars, and who knows, he might just show up in Avengers: Secret Wars. However, he is mostly not a hero.
Beyonder is a cosmic entity and basically doesn’t have a fixed physical form, which means he can look like anyone, irrespective of any culture. This makes Shah Rukh Khan suitable for the role.
Besides that, Khan has had a knack for portraying larger-than-life characters. As mentioned earlier, Khan is popular for his multifaceted characters and his subtle gestures will be perfect for Beyonder’s shifting moods, from curiosity to menace.

After Robert Downey Jr., it is now almost impossible for the audience to accept any other actor in the role of Iron Man. However, much like how Henry Cavill appeared as Wolverine in Deadpool & Wolverine, Shah Rukh Khan can also do a cameo or a small role as a variant of Iron Man in the upcoming MCU movies.
Tony Stark is a witty, effortless, larger-than-life personality who carries all his insecurities and emotions with a swagger. Khan’s real-life witty and charismatic persona, his on-screen portrayals of characters with witty one-liners with a mischievous smile, will sit perfectly for the role.

Apart from all these possibilities, some other potential roles might feature Shah Rukh Khan. One of the most obvious ones is as himself. In the Ms Marvel series, Kamala Khan mentioned the name SRK and his movies while discussing with her friend about their favorite Bollywood movies. So it won’t be surprising if she shares a fangirl moment after meeting her favorite actor.
Other than that, Shah Rukh Khan could also play the character of any other Indian origin superhero. The only thing is that Marvel needs to build a plot around the character that would justify his age, as most of the Indian superheroes are young bloods. As far as the rumor is concerned, he might contribute to dubbing the upcoming Avengers movie in Hindi, or possibly the rumor will just stay a rumor.
