3 killed, several injured as sleeper bus overturns in Madhya Pradesh

INDORE: A sleeper coach bus en route from Indore to Rajkot overturned near Patharpada village on State Highway 18 in Petlawad, Jhabua, at around 2am on Sunday night. The accident resulted in the death of three passengers: Mohammad Arif (45), his wife Farzana Arif (42), residents of Ahmedabad, and a 10-year-old boy, Aman Yadav.The bus, bearing registration number MP 09 PA 0271, was carrying over 30 passengers, of whom more than 15 sustained injuries. They were immediately rushed to Petlawad Hospital with the help of 108 ambulances, where they are currently receiving treatment. The remaining passengers are reported to be safe.Upon receiving information about the incident, Petlawad Police Station in-charge Dinesh Sharma and Sarangi outpost in-charge Deepak Devre reached the spot with their team.

With the assistance of two JCB machines, a crane, and local villagers, the overturned bus was lifted, and the bodies of the three deceased were recovered from underneath.Their bodies were sent to the hospital for post-mortem procedures. The bus driver, identified as Jitendra Patel, a resident of Indore, fled the scene after the accident. The condition of the injured passengers is currently stable, and they are receiving necessary medical assistance.
