The United Kingdom’s chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term with plans to hold a mega rally to celebrate the president.

This was contained in a memo issued after a meeting of the group in London on May 25, and signed by Chief Momoh Y. Obaro and Tunde Doherty, secretary and chairman of the group, respectively, and released to newsmen on Friday in Lokoja.

The endorsement letter addressed to the president through the party’s National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, was delivered to the APC, Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, during his recent visit to the U.K.

The group also used the occasion to affirm support for the secretary’s governorship ambition in Osun state.

Captioned Vote of Confidence and Endorsement for a Second Term in Office, the letter read in part, “We write on behalf of the All Progressives Congress United Kingdom Chapter to express our resolute vote of confidence in your visionary leadership and to officially endorse Your Excellency for a second term as Resident of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“At the general meeting of the APC UK chapter, we all agreed on this decision after discussing your administration’s accomplishments and the optimism it inspires in Nigerians both at home and abroad.

“This decision will be officially ratified by all the Diasporans in the UK during a major event later this year. We would be thrilled to have you and the Exco of the party join us at the mega rally. We’ll send you the details of the rally soon.

Similarly, the APC in Benue state has formally endorsed Governor Hyacinth Alia and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-elections in 2027.

The endorsement was made during a gathering of APC leaders, elders, and council chairmen at the two years anniversary of both the governor and the president in Makurdi where they cited the “sterling performances” of both leaders as justification for their decision.

The Chairman of the APC Elders Forum, Chief Barnabas Gemade, moved the motion, citing satisfaction with the “sterling performances” of both leaders.

“We are convinced that Governor Alia and President Tinubu deserve another four years to consolidate their achievements,” he said.

APC Unity Caretaker Committee Chairman in Benue, Chief Benjamin Omale, echoed the sentiment, hailing the endorsement of Tinubu as the party’s sole 2027 candidate as a “masterstroke” that had strengthened internal unity and silenced the opposition.

The endorsement came as Governor Alia marked his second anniversary in office on May 29, 2025.

In a speech at the IBB Square, Makurdi, the governor reflected on the progress made by his administration in various sectors, including infrastructure, agriculture, education, healthcare, digital governance, and security.

He said some of the ongoing projects being executed by his administration included “construction of underpasses in Makurdi and Gboko, renovation of the State Secretariat and House of Assembly complex, and statewide road projects.”

“Others include the commissioning of a ₦20 billion ultra-modern cancer treatment centre at the Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University Teaching Hospital, deployment of a digital agri-fintech platform to streamline input subsidies and enhance productivity, recruitment of over 9,000 teachers, new ₦75,000 minimum wage for educators, and infrastructure upgrades across 253 schools and creation of three new institutions to drive the state’s digital policy and service delivery,” he said.

The governor highlighted the establishment of Operation Anyam Nyôr to tackle insecurity, logistical support to law enforcement, and efforts to eliminate terrorist and criminal elements from the state.

He also noted civil service reforms that had saved the state over ₦1.2 billion monthly through the elimination of ghost workers.

The governor expressed optimism about the future, assuring the people of even greater achievements in the years ahead.

“We are committed to a Benue where every citizen can live with dignity and aspire without limits,” he said.

In the same vein, the Cross River APC Caucus in the National Assembly has said it was endorsing President Tinubu and Governor Bassey Otu to continue in office to 2031.

The APC NASS Caucus said President Tinubu and Governor Otu were its candidates.

The APC NASS members, made up of seven House of Representatives and two senators, said this in Calabar during a brief endorsement ceremony in Calabar, Thursday.

The endorsement, they said, underscored growing confidence within the party’s structure across three senatorial districts and 18 local government areas of the state that Tinubu and Otu were doing well.

Speaking, the APC Caucus chairman and the senator representing Cross River Central Senatorial District, Eteng Jonah Williams, said the endorsement was a collective and deliberate decision of all the members.

“Our president has done well and for us in the National Assembly, we have seen it especially the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, which you and I shall enjoy. For that reason, we endorse him for a second term so that the road would be completed. Let us all vote for President Tinubu as our Sole Candidate for 2027 elections,” he said.

He noted that Governor Otu had made visible progress across the state, including the rehabilitation of the state library and the improvement in security through the recently launched Operation Okwok.

“Today, what we have seen is enough for us to go back and sleep and ask Sen. Bassey Otu to continue the good works. Our governor has done well and deserves our accolades. We are not mincing words; we are asking that he continues his good works in the state. So, we endorse him for the second term,” he said.
