2027: Don't panic over your reelection, senator tells Jigawa Governor

Chairman of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs, Senator Abdul Hamid Malamadori, has expressed confidence that Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State will secure a second term in office with ease, regardless of the number of contenders.

Senator Malamadori, who represents Jigawa North East Senatorial District, gave the assurance on Tuesday during the Citizens and Government Engagement Programme held in Birniwa Local Government Area of the state.

“There is no vacancy for Jigawa number one seat in the coming 2027 general election, because Namadi has already gotten it,” he declared.

According to the senator, Governor Umar Namadi’s unprecedented performance is enough to allow him do second term.

“The governor’s human development, education and economic reforms have given him second term come 2027,” Senator Mallamdori said.

He added: “Today, Agricultural growth has taken its tolls in Jigawa just as youths and women empowerment has become one of the top priorities of the Namadi administration.

“But, despite all these achievements, Governor Namadi, remains humble and focused, he still refuses to rest or go about beating his chest; rather he is looking on many areas that are yet to feel the touch of his administration.”

The Senator advised those ”dreaming” of the number one seat in Jigawa state within the APC other other political parties to jettison their ambitions as there will be no vacancy in the Jigawa Government House come 2027 polls.

The Senator explained that the governor deserves to be re-elected to complete his project of building “a mega agrarian state.”

“Let me advised every politician in this State to rally behind Governor Namadi and support his re-election bid, and stop dreaming of taking over his job.

“Governor, Umar Namadi is doing very well, therefore, there is no need for anybody to think of challenging him in the 2027 race, because doing so would be tantamount to wasting time.

“Governor Namadi deserves to serve his second term come 2027 because of his outstanding performance,” Senator Mallamdori said.
