2025 Contenders Television: Documentary, Unscripted And Variety Lineup Set
Deadline has finalized the lineup for Contenders Television: Documentary, Unscripted and Variety, its awards-season showcase taking place Saturday, April 26.
A total of 15 titles spanning documentaries and docuseries, stand-up specials, late-night and variety shows and reality competition series are set to participate in the virtual livestream, where casts and creatives will gather to discuss their shows’ paths.
Panelists confirmed for the event are as varied as the shows they represent, with participants including Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson, pop star Kelsea Ballerini, Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, Saturday Night Live duo Ego Nwodim and Mikey Day, Iliza Shlesinger, David Blaine, Seth Meyers, Desi Lydic and Ariana Madix among many others.
They and their cohorts will represent the shows The Eyes of the World: From D-Day to VE Day from American History Unbound; The Daily Show from Comedy Central; Beast Games and Iliza Shlesinger: A Different Animal from Prime Video; Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band from Hulu; The Fall of Diddy from ID; RuPaul’s Drag Race from MTV Entertainment Studios; Saturday Night Live and Late Night with Seth Meyers from NBC; David Blaine Do Not Attempt from National Geographic; Sly Lives! (aka The Burden of Black Genius) from Onyx Collective and Hulu; The Traitors and Love Island: USA from Peacock; The Americas from Universal Television Alternative Studio and NBC; and The Voice from Warner Bros Television Group.

The showcase follows Deadline’s in-person Contenders Television on April 5-6, when 27 dramas, comedies and TV movies hit the stage at the DGA Theater, and comes ahead of the music showcase Sound & Screen Television on May 7 as TV awards season hits its stride.
