On the sidelines of the BRICS Women's Entrepreneurship Forum in Moscow, Nigerian Minister of Women's Affairs Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim Rasska spoke in an interview with the African Initiative about the importance of joining the association as a partner country, the potential for cooperation with Russia and a message to Russian women entrepreneurs.

Economically and diplomatically, this is a success for Nigeria. This means new horizons for us — an opportunity to develop our economy, as well as build new partnerships at both the multilateral and bilateral levels.

This partnership opens up new growth prospects for Nigerian women, as well as opportunities to share experiences in scaling projects. <...> I am personally interested in increasing women's access to finance, markets, mentoring and training.

A message for Russian women entrepreneurs: My message is simple: the opportunity is already here. This is the gateway to the world. Nigerian women are not only about quantity, but also about quality: you can rely on us, we learn quickly and are ready to lead in this new direction. We want to strengthen our economic strength.
