10 Ways To Use ChatGPT To Improve Your Life

Published 1 week ago8 minute read

While there is a lot of discourse surrounding the use of AI, there is no denying how powerful it can be in whatever it is used for. So why not use ChatGPT to improve your life? There are countless ways to do just that. Today I’ll be sharing with you 10 ways that you can use ChatGPT to change your life.

ChatGPT was created by OpenAI, an artificial intelligence research laboratory, and has been around since 2018. Although it wasn’t officially named ChatGPT until 2022. With the rise in popularity and discussion of AI, ChatGPT has definitely grown over recent years.

If you have no familiarity with this application let me explain how it works. You start by giving it a prompt. ChatGPT then gives you an answer to your prompt based on data it has been trained to know. There is a free and a paid version that you can check out as well. ChatGPT is accessible online, or through their mobile app.

I saw a TikTok video about this at the end of 2024 and instantly knew I had to try it out. I wasn’t disappointed with my results either. In the playlist that you’ll find at the bottom of the video the user walks you through how to prompt ChatGPT to create you action plan for your dream year/life, and eventually your vision board as well. I have my “workbook” that I reference at the end of each week to keep me inspired throughout the year.

I know this was created for the beginning of the year prep, but honestly it’s never too late to go after what you want and create a game plan to do that. Give these prompts a try and then see just how inspired you feel after.

I love going to ChatGPT when I feel uninspired in the kitchen and am trying to eat healthy. It literally takes all the hard work out of meal planning and creating a grocery list because it does it for you.

All you have to do is tell it what you like and don’t like, how many people you are feeding, as well as anything else you may want to include (your grocery budget would be a good one). Then once it gives you a meal plan you like just ask it to make a grocery list for all the meals on the list. Now you are ready to go grocery shopping.

If you need help creating a budget that works for you, you’ll find this is one of the best ways to use ChatGPT to improve your life. This is because it’s like having a personal finance planner in your phone, and it won’t take long to go through and set-up either.

The key is preparation of your current financial picture, as well as to make sure that you prompt ChatGPT to ask you questions. This will help it get clear on your spending habits, bills, and money goals. Tom’s Guide gives you a step by step process on how to do this so that you can get your own personalized budget.

ChatGPT has a wealth of knowledge that it has been taught. So why not tap into that so that you can learn something too? Whether you are curious about a certain subject, trying to uplevel your career, or just enjoy learning new skills, these are great prompts for you.

Trying to figure out where to begin on big tasks and projects can be stressful and also overwhelming. Take some of the overwhelm out by turning to ChatGPT for help. I did this to determine a plan for creating my own planner, which is something that I’ve been wanting to do for a while.

Here are some of the results I got from the prompts I sent. As you can see I needed to go back and get more specific information. The more prompts you ask it, and the more specific you can get in your prompts, then the more powerful your result will be.

This is my favorite way to use ChatGPT to improve your life. I have a bookstagram and a self-care focused instagram and sometimes I blank on what to post. That is where this application comes in. I usually focus on a monthly content plan so I’ll say something like:

“You are an instagram content creator. Create a content plan for the month of (insert month here). Posts should be informative, engaging, or entertaining and be about (insert your subject matter here). Include relevant trends and holidays and posts that will help my account grow.”

You can also take it a step further and ask ChatGPT to design your content with Canva. All you have to do is click/tap “Explore GPTs” and type Canva in the search bar. Then you describe what you are looking for. I usually tell it my brand colors, the style and tone I’m looking for, and any other descriptive language I can use.

If you want to stand out when applying for a job you’ve got to have an optimized resume. If creating that doesn’t come naturally to you, you’ve got an A.I. bot that can help you with that. Then all you need is your resume and a screenshot of the job description. Upload both of these to ChatGPT and then prompt it saying something like this:

“Given the skills and experience that I have and the job description, what are some ways that I can format my resume that showcases the experience that would be most beneficial to the job I am applying for?”

Take the suggestions that ChatGPT gives you to optimize your resume. Then, once you get a call for an interview, Nicole has some tips for using ChatGPT to prepare for the job interview.

To add more structure to your life, use a ChatGPT prompt that will help you organize your to-do-list. Whether you are looking for a daily routine, or something a little longer – like a week or a month, ChatGPT can help. All you do is tell it what you have going on, what you want to incorporate, and what needs completion.

This is a prompt that I’m excited to use myself this summer as I plan a birthday trip. While I love planning things, I’m not an experienced traveler. This prompt will definitely help me get the most out of my trip. Then I’ll be able to feel confident that I’m going to have the best experience, without all the stress and doubt. If you use ChatGPT to improve your life by planning a trip, let me know how it goes by leaving a comment on this post.

I couldn’t leave out a personal development piece. If you are feeling stuck there are some great prompts you can use to find some direction and inspiration. This video is full of prompts that  work best if you’ve used ChatGPT for a little while. The video below is a great one to use to help ChatGPT get to know you so that it can help you become unstuck.

Now you see how much you can do with ChatGPT. Just remember – the more specific you are with your prompts, the better your result will be. Try it out for yourself and see how AI can change your life for the better,
