$1.23 million Ocean Bay Park house for sale has 'beachy, boho vibe' - Newsday

A Fire Island house with a "beachy, boho vibe" is on the market for $1.23 million, with taxes of $3,087. The flood insurance is $6,280 and could be assumable by the next homeowner, the listing agent said.

The property is located on Seneca Walk in Ocean Bay Park. It contains five bedrooms and two bathrooms, on a 5,000 square foot lot. The number of bedrooms is desirable in Fire Island, said listing agent Abigail Mago, of Fire Island Sales & Rentals.

"People always come here in big groups," she said. "They're gathering extended family, and everyone wants to go to the beach. The fact that you have five bedrooms and you can accommodate a lot of people is a really nice feature."

The interior design of the home aligns with the vibe of Ocean Bay Park, Mago said.

"[Ocean Bay Park] has become very attractive to a more creative set of people," she said. "The analogy I like to draw is that Ocean Bay Park is kind of like the Brooklyn of Fire Island, whereas Ocean Beach is more like Manhattan. And I think the aesthetic of this particular house really reflects that; it has this nice, beachy, boho vibe."

The main living area features vaulted ceilings with open framing to the roof. There is also an outdoor shower and patio area. The property is in the Fire Island School District.

The community recently welcomed two new eateries: The restaurant Samui Thai and On The Way Cafe, both of which have opened for their first summers on Fire Island, Mago said.

"Those are really nice amenities that have just come to the community," she added.
