Yankees Named 'Dark-Horse' Landing Spot for Red Sox Rafael Devers - Yahoo Sports

The New York Yankees would love to add Rafael Devers of the Boston Red Sox. Before getting into the Yankees not having the prospects to likely get a deal done, there are hundreds of other things to consider.

Most importantly, the Yankees and Red Sox hate each other, and sending Devers, one of the best players in Red Sox history, to New York wouldn’t make any Boston fan happy.

It's never fair to say never about any trade scenario. Crazier things have happened around Major League Baseball, and every other professional sport. However, it seems very unlikely that the Red Sox and Yankees would ever hook up in a trade involving the $315 million star.

“In come the Yankees, the storied rival of the Red Sox during their lengthy histories and a potential home for one of Boston's biggest stars. The Yankees were linked to St. Louis Cardinals' third baseman, Nolan Arenado, for a good portion of the offseason, but a deal was never done, leaving the Yankees with Oswaldo Cabrera. Following his injury and the disgruntled Devers, the Yankees could be a dark-horse landing spot for one of their biggest rivals,” he wrote.

The Yankees need a third baseman, and the expectation around Major League Baseball is for them to find one eventually. However, there's a much better chance of that being someone like Nolan Arenado than someone like Devers.
