WTC Abuja unveils trade desk, export launchpad to boost AfCFTA - Daily Trust

The World Trade Center, Abuja has unveiled its trade desk and export launch pad as part of efforts to boost trade by leveraging on the African Continental Free Trade Area agreement.

Speaking at the launch on Tuesday, Vice President of World Trade Centre(WTC) Abuja, Mr Ahmed Karim Adelaja noted that  Export Launchpad is WTC Abuja’s flagship business accelerator built to empower Nigerian exporters, especially small and medium-scale enterprises to compete successfully in international markets.

He said, “It will provide export-ready diagnostics, sector-specific market intelligence, packaging and compliance advisory and access to logistics partners, (0:41) trade finance and verified international buyers

“It will also serve as a pipeline for AFCFTA trade, ECOWAS regional integration and global exports, focusing on agriculture, manufacturing, the creative economy and services.”

Throwing more light on the trade desk, he said, “It will function as a dedicated liaison and support hub for exporters, offering market entry and regulatory support, documentation guidelines,  policy issue escalations and business matchmaking through the global WTC network.”

The WTC Abuja Vice President added that the desk will work closely with chambers of commerce, to serve as a bridge to global opportunity for MSMEs

Also speaking, Mr. Vinay Mahtani, GMD, Churchgate Group and Developer of World Trade Center, Abuja stated that the launching of the Export Launch pad and the WTC trade desk serves as an avenue to boost trade export in Nigeria and beyond, adding that with AfCFTA, Nigeria must position to take advantage of its prospects.
