Women begin fundraising for Buba's guber ambition in Bauchi
Stakeholders from the Bauchi Central Senatorial District have begun mobilising support for Senator Shehu Buba, representing Bauchi South, amid growing calls for him to contest the 2027 governorship election.
Although Buba has not formally declared his interest, his supporters have taken to erecting billboards and pasting campaign posters across major roads in the state.
Speaking at a town hall consultation meeting held Thursday in Misau, Chairman of the Contact and Mobilisation Committee, Alhaji Muhammadu Abubakar Sade, said the movement is focused on uniting the All Progressives Congress (APC) and believes Senator Buba is best suited to lead Bauchi State in 2027.
“Shehu Buba is a unifying figure, not just in our party or the state but across the nation. We are committed to taking his message to every corner of Bauchi State,” Sade said.
In a show of grassroots support, women in Darazo Local Government Area have launched a fundraising campaign to purchase the APC governorship nomination form for Buba.
Rashida Abubakar Mohammed, Women Leader in Darazo, praised the senator’s impactful representation, saying, “Senator Buba has supported our communities beyond his constituency.
“That is why we, the women of Darazo, have begun contributing towards securing his ticket. Even if it costs N50 million, we are prepared to raise it.”
She emphasized that the women are united in their resolve to back Buba, urging him to answer their call to serve.
The event drew stakeholders and party loyalists from across Misau, Darazo, Dambam, Ningi, Ganjuwa, and Warji local government areas, signaling growing momentum behind Buba’s undeclared candidacy.
