Speaking in a Facebook video, Cosmo laid bare the challenges facing Ruto’s re-election bid, pointing to growing hostility among voters and shifting political dynamics across the country.
Cosmo began by asserting that the majority of Kenyans had turned against Ruto.
“The majority of the people are against the president, let me say as his person. If we were to win in 2027, we must do something,” he warned.
He acknowledged Raila Odinga’s enduring support but stressed that the 2027 elections would not be a simple contest for Ruto’s side.
“Even if Baba (Raila) is there, the ground is very hostile. If we rely on the votes from Luo Nyanza, we must look for new aspirants to solicit votes,” Cosmo advised.
During his tours around the country, Cosmo revealed that many people expressed affection for him personally and encouraged him to contest an electoral seat, but notably, not under the banner of Ruto or the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
“I have a hard time looking for votes on behalf of Ruto. They tell me I should look for my own votes and not those of Ruto. People are against the president. The ground is very harsh, let the truth be said,” he confessed.
Cosmo also criticised some of the lawmakers allied with Ruto. He accused them of prioritising their financial interests and businesses over political loyalty and the president’s agenda.
“They are helping the president pass bills in parliament, which is good, but they are after their stomachs. In 2026, many will run away from Ruto so as to survive. I’m speaking the truth,” he predicted.

The commentator, who has previously hinted at contesting for the Embakasi MP seat in 2027, warned that former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua’s rising influence could deliver a significant blow to Ruto’s camp.
“In Central Kenya, there are no votes for Ruto. I’ve walked and seen. It will be like a tsunami. Gachagua’s Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) will sweep almost every seat,” he cautioned.
Cosmo went on to list several lawmakers he believes will struggle to survive the voters’ wrath in 2027, noting that the DCP is poised to gain substantial ground in the upcoming elections.
Focusing on Nairobi, Cosmo was blunt in his assessment that Ruto is losing influence in the capital.
He predicted that Ruto’s allies, including Nairobi governor Johnson Sakaja, will likely be defeated.
“When you come to Nairobi, Sakaja will be defeated early in the morning. And I will vote for Babu Owino as Nairobi governor,” he declared.
In a previous story by , Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna dismissed rumours of a possible coalition between Ruto’s UDA and Raila’s ODM party ahead of the 2027 election.
He expressed doubt about Ruto’s chances regardless of any support he might receive.
Sifuna firmly stated that even with backing from Raila and ODM, Ruto is unlikely to win the next general election, labelling the administration as incompetent.
