President Bola Tinubu has said he would ensure that all Nigerians feel the impact of good governance during his administration.
Tinubu said his administration will continue to invest in critical infrastructure to enhance the quality of life of Nigerians.
He spoke during the inauguration of the newly constructed Collector Road CN2 (Zakari A. Kyari Street) in Abuja, to celebrate his second year in office.
The roads were constructed under the supervision of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
Represented by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, the president said the newly commissioned road will significantly reduce traffic time and travel time, and enhance connectivity to reflect the administration’s commitment to urban development and improving the quality of life for Nigerians.
He said: “This commissioning today is not just the opening of a road; every road we build in the federal capital opens communities, supports growth, and enhances prosperity. I commend the Minister of FCT and his team for prioritizing infrastructural delivery.
“My administration will continue to invest in critical infrastructure like roads, bridges, housing, transport, and health because we understand that infrastructure is the foundation of national development, and infrastructure is not an expenditure but a good investment for the people.
“Let me assure you that we are not relenting until every Nigerian in every corner of this country feels the impact of good governance.
“We are committed to making sure that the ongoing and future infrastructure projects that will further enhance the quality of life for our citizens are achieved in good time.”
The president also urged commuters to make good use of the roads.
He said the roads were constructed to improve the daily lives of their users in line with the promises of his administration.
“This is your road, residents of Mabushi, residents of Katampe and the surrounding areas. This is your road, protect and preserve it while using it.
“We built this road with hopes that it will significantly improve your daily lives because that is what we promised you when we took over this administration. Those promises—we will ensure that they are daily kept,” he added.
