forward has debunked reports of quitting international football.

News made the rounds on Friday following the Bayer Leverkusen star’s post on X (former Twitter), claiming to have retired from playing for the Nigeria national team, after their friendly .

“Proud to play for my country and a dream for me also. Really enjoyed every moment the good and the bad.

“Thanks a lot. Thank you all. I don hang boot,” Boniface wrote.

However, a recent post indicates that the 24-year-old remains a full member of the Super Eagles.

Replying to a post by popular Nigerian Afro star Odumodublvck which reads: “POOJA HAS TO BE THE ONE TO ANNOUNCE BOTH VICTORS. NOT FABRIZIO. NIGERIAN HERITAGE,” Boniface wrote, “Announce, Where I dey go?”

His recent statement of retirement has now been interpreted as one of his many jokes on the popular social media platform.

This also means there is no end to his international career, at least, not yet, pending his formal statement through an official media channel or the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF).
