All roads led to the Water Corporation Drive, Oniru, Lagos last weekend where the 2025 GTCO Food and Drink Festival was held with the theme ‘A Shared Experience’ showcasing how food and culture unite people across the world.

The three-day event, which held from May 2 to 4, 2025, featured food vendors at the exhibition section with cocktails and mocktails, handy snacks, ready to eat, complete restaurant service, dry and packaged food stuffs.

The event also spotlighted about 11 chefs from around who took food lovers and stakeholders in the culinary industry through masterclasses.

The highlight of the event for each day, however, was the street food section where good Nigerian food met with good music, making the scene the life of the party as both Nigerians and visitors from around the world danced their way to the food vendors for subtle savour of each delicacy.

Speaking to The Guardian, an Indian woman at the street food section, Diya, who attended the festival with her family, said: “We are in Nigeria for a brief vacation and I intentionally fixed our vacation to this time of the year when GTCO Food and Drink Festival takes place. I was here last year with my sister, but this year my husband and my sister’s husband came along, just to enjoy Nigerian food.

In India, street food is a part of our culture and we enjoy it a lot. So this festival and the good Nigerian street food served here tastes very delicious. We were here on Friday, today is Saturday and we will be here tomorrow Sunday too. If I have my way, I wish this GTCO Food and Drink festival will continue till the end of our vacation.”
