Joey Carbery and Robyn Flanagan can hardly believe that 12 whole months have flown by since they welcomed their son Beau to the world.

Just over two years since they tied the knot in a lavish wedding in Marbella, the rugby player and his stylish wife made it their mission to mark their baby boy’s first birthday in a special way.

Since upping sticks and moving to Bordeaux, Joey, Robyn, and Beau are miles away from their beloved families, but their little trio was all they needed when it came to celebrating Beau’s big day.

The couple shared a series of photos to mark the occasion. One shows not-so-little Beau happily trotting around on a tricycle (presumably a first birthday gift).

Stylish as she is, Robyn had her little boy looking very dapper for the day that was in it with some denim shorts, a navy T-shirt and a custom-made navy birthday crown embroidered with his name.

It looks like little Beau was spoilt rotten by his mammy and daddy, and also got a tiny teepee tent to play in, which poor Joey also seems to enjoy!

By all accounts, it was a fun-filled day as Robyn and Joey brought their baby boy out on a walk near the sea, and to the aquarium, where Beau was captivated by the giant turtles swimming around.

And, of course, what’s a first birthday without cake? It was then back to the Carbery residence to have a happy birthday sing-song, and for Beau to blow out the candle on his little cream and fruit cake.

Robyn sweetly wrote: ‘This day one year ago you changed our world forever baby boy. Words will never describe how much we adore you. Wishing you the happiest of birthdays today.’
