Vote for Louisville-area high school girls athlete of the week before polls close Thursday
The nominees for this week's Courier Journal girls athlete of the week delivered on tracks and softball fields.
Voting is underway for The Courier Journal's girls athlete of the week. The poll closes at 6 p.m. Thursday, and the winner will be announced Friday.

Assumption’s Lauren Satterly gets out of a bases loaded inning against Male in KHSAA Softball Region 7 Championship. May 28, 2025
Senior Lauren Satterly didn't allow a run in 11 innings pitched during the Seventh Region Tournament. She led the Rockets to another region title, pitching a shutout in the championship game, and went 2 for 3 with two RBIs.

Freshman Ryleigh Watrous led the Chargers to their first Sixth Region title in 13 years. In the title game, she allowed one run on three hits and struck out four in four innings.
Senior Jozie Lashley went 4 for 5 in two games played. She led the Colonels to an Eighth Region title, going 3 for 3 with two RBIs in the championship game against Anderson County.

Sophomore Grace Bethel won the 100- and 200-meter Class 3A state championships. She was also part of Male's 400 and 800 relay teams that finished first.

Senior Alexandra Allen finished first in the 400 meters and second in the 100 at the Class 3A state championships.
