Urban Outfitters to open in Newcastle's Metro Centre

URBN flagship brand Urban Outfitters has signed an 8,000 sq ft store in the Red Mall of Newcastle's Metrocentre shopping complex.

s's first store signing of 2025, marking its second largest in the region. It joins well known fashion retailers such as Zara, H&M and New Look.

The new store will stock a range of menswear and womenswear, alongside accessories and homeware, including third-party brands such as Iets Frans, Levi's, Motel, Damson Madder, Dickies, and Carhartt WIP.

It was also announced in February that Intidex-owned Stradivarius will open in the Red Mall, marking the brand’s first location in the North East.

Ben Cox, director at Sovereign Centros from CBRE, asset managers of Metrocentre, commented: “Urban Outfitters is a globally recognised brand with a strong connection to young, style-conscious shoppers, and it is only right that we welcome them to our leading tenant mix and signal our commitment to delivering what our visitors want. The demand for trend-setting brands such as Urban Outfitters continues to grow, and it’s a strong message to play host to its first UK store opening of the year."

Opened in 1986, Metrocentre makes home to 270 retail brands and welcomes nearly 16m visitors a year.

Red Mall houses fashion and international brands, including Zara, River Island, and Reiss, as well as a combined unit for Flannels, Sports Direct, and Everlast Gyms.

Green Mall offers high street favourites such as M&S, Next, and H Beauty.
