The father of Sporting CF striker, Viktor Gyokeres, reportedly broke down in tears as his son’s move to Arsenal hit an impasse.
Despite reaching a broad agreement, the two clubs are yet to iron out the structure of payments.
Negotiations have stalled all week and Gyokeres’ future remains uncertain.
According to Maisfutebol, Gyokeres’ father was so emotionally affected by the situation amid concern that the transfer could collapse.
Sporting president, Frederico Varandas, however, remains adamant and is refusing to back down on his demands.
Varandas insists that the €10 million in potential bonuses included in the deal must be easily achievable, a non-negotiable condition for the sale to proceed.
