Tinubu's Leadership and Decisions

President Bola Tinubu's leadership has been lauded for its courage and vision, particularly his willingness to tackle long-standing national challenges. At a special Iftar held in his honor, Vice President Kashim Shettima praised Tinubu's sacrifices, stating that history would remember him as a leader who confronted issues that previous administrations had avoided. Shettima emphasized that Tinubu is taking "bullets" by addressing complex problems such as fuel subsidies, an unstable forex market, and local government autonomy, issues that many leaders before him "simply lacked the courage to face."

Senate President Godswill Akpabio echoed these sentiments, describing President Tinubu as a leader who thinks outside the box and possesses a relentless passion for national development. Akpabio highlighted the increased allocation that governors are receiving under Tinubu's administration, humorously noting that he would be a 'supernatural governor' if he were in such a position.

President Tinubu's decision to appoint Bosun Tijani as Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy was also spotlighted as an example of his leadership philosophy. Despite Tijani's past criticisms of Tinubu and the National Assembly, the President recognized his talent and potential contribution to the country. Tinubu recounted how close associates had reservations about the appointment, but he stood firm, believing that Tijani's past frustrations could be channeled into positive governance.

Tijani himself shared his surprise and gratitude for the opportunity, noting that President Tinubu's magnanimity was unexpected. He recalled that during his confirmation process, senators raised his past critical comments, but President Tinubu defended his choice, stating that criticism does not negate talent and potential.

Senate President Akpabio recounted the intense debate in the Senate regarding Tijani's confirmation, recalling a specific instance where Tijani had described Nigerian senators as 'morons.' However, Akpabio noted that the senators ultimately trusted President Tinubu's judgment and confirmed Tijani, who has since become one of the best-performing ministers in the cabinet. Akpabio stated, "Mr. President, we confirmed him because we knew you must have seen something special in him. You are never wrong when it comes to your judgment of people."

The tributes and anecdotes shared during the Iftar highlighted President Tinubu's boldness, vision, and ability to recognize talent, even in those who have been critical of him in the past. His leadership is characterized by a willingness to confront difficult challenges and a commitment to national development, earning him praise from both his supporters and former critics.
