There's One John Wick Character I Think The Movies Never Needed

Published 18 hours ago4 minute read

The franchise takes place in a world teeming with assassins, but one character has always seemed unnecessary. The future of the John Wick franchise looks set up to introduce even more characters, starting with Ana de Armas' Eve in Ballerina. Aside from John himself, there have been dozens of great characters introduced in the four movies already, even those who only appear in a single chapter. Characters like Sofia, Caine and Zero help to expand the world of John Wick, but other characters are a little more confusing.

The John Wick franchise has changed a lot over the years, evolving from its humble beginnings as a revenge thriller into a globe-trotting action epic. This means that there have been more eccentric and unpredictable characters in the most recent movies. It's hard to imagine someone like Killa Harkan in the first movie, for example. While many of these new characters have been welcome additions to the franchise, there are a few which have been pretty forgettable, and one that doesn't even make sense.

, as the Marquis puts a large bounty on John's head which draws interest from dozens of assassins. Mr. Nobody quickly sets himself apart from the hordes of killers, proving that his skills rival the likes of Caine and John. He has several opportunities to kill John and claim the reward, but he chooses to wait until the bounty increases to make it worth his while. Ultimately, he and John form an alliance when John saves his dog, and they have a mutual grudge against the High Table.

The world of John Wick is expanding yet again with that addition of a sequel series entitled John Wick: Under the High Table.

Although Mr. Nobody is a near-constant presence in Chapter 4, he doesn't have much impact on the plot. He acts as John's watchful protector at times, before becoming an ally later on, but it would be easy to cut him from the script entirely without changing the story very much at all. . This gives him an air of importance throughout the film, as if his journey is building up to some grand reveal.

Even though Mr. Nobody's story sticks out in John Wick: Chapter 4, it would make sense if it was a way to set up the character for sequels or spin-offs in the future. By the end of Chapter 4, Mr. Nobody looks like he could be another fighter in the war against the High Table. While details about John Wick: Chapter 5 remains shrouded in mystery, . He could find a few allies among John's old friends, like Winston, the Bowery King, Caine and even Akira.

Mr. Nobody has a lot of potential as a character, even if he doesn't show up in Chapter 5. He could easily have his own spin-off, either following his journey in the future or digging into his mysterious past. As his name suggests, there isn't much that's revealed about Mr. Nobody, who's known to some as the Tracker. What's clear is that he's a cut above most other assassins, but he seems to emerge from the shadows without any ties except his beloved dog.

As the John Wick franchise continues to expand, Mr. Nobody isn't the only character who could potentially carry their own spin-off. Introducing a new character in Ballerina seems like a shrewd move to differentiate the first spin-off from the rest of the franchise, but there's also a Caine spin-off in the works with Donnie Yen set to return. Other characters like Sofia, Akira and the Bowery King could also be the stars of their own movies in the future, although this may all depend on how the John Wick franchise develops after the shocking ending to Chapter 4.
