The Boro player who was "all at sea" - and another who deserves to be dropped - Yahoo Sport
How did the players fare in Middlesbrough's 1-0 defeat at Swansea City?
(4-2-3-1):
Vigouroux 6; Key 6, Cabango 7, Darling 7 (Delcroix 63, 6), Tymon 7; Franco 7, O’Brien 7; Ronald 6, Cullen 7 (Fulton 81), 8 (Cooper 73); Vipotnik 7 (Bianchini 73).
Subs (not used): McLaughlin (gk), Allen, Ginnelly, Christie, Naughton.
(4-2-3-1):
6 : Made a couple of decent low saves and didn’t have any chance with Eom’s first-half winner
4 : A ragged performance in which he repeatedly looked stretched – couldn’t get forward at all
5 : Tried to hold things together at the heart of the back four before he became the latest player to succumb to Boro’s defensive injury curse
5 : Made a decent effort of having to play at centre-half – there’s every chance he’ll be staying there for a while
3 : Looked all at sea before being replaced at the interval – doesn’t look anything like the player from two seasons ago
4 : Sloppy in possession on a number of occasions – seemed to need an age to pass forward
5 : Tried to get Boro going, but couldn’t break down the Swansea defence on a frustrating afternoon
4 : Failed to make an attacking impact before being taken off at half-time – lost the ball in the build-up to Swansea’s opener
3 : Gave the ball away repeatedly, especially in the first half – hasn’t done anything to merit remaining in the team
5 : Made a couple of forward breaks, but was never really a factor in the final third
5 : Was forced to feed on scraps for most of the game, but at least forced Vigouroux into a save in the second half
:
5 (for Forss, 46): Brightened things up slightly, but wasn’t able to make a sustained impact
6 (for Giles, 46): Much better than the player he replaced – deserves to start at left-back on Tuesday
5 (for Whittaker, 69): Added a bit of energy in the closing stages – should probably be starting
Howson (for Fry, 79)
(not used): Glover (gk), McCormick, Woolston, McCabe, Barlser.
– The Swansea midfielder delivered the kind of creativity and energy that Boro were so badly lacking.
