Teyana Taylor's Fiery Chemistry with Aaron Pierre Apparent in 'Long Time' Music Video

Published 1 week ago3 minute read

Things are seemingly heating up between Teyana Taylor and Aaron Pierre!

On Wednesday, June 4, Taylor released a new single, "Long Time," with an accompanying music video — and it stars the Mufasa: The Lion King actor!

In the music video, Taylor, 34, seemingly grapples with the end of a toxic relationship with an ex (portrayed by LaKeith Stanfield) — and Pierre, 30, comes to the rescue.

"I kept you inspired (Inspired) / I lent you my fire (Fire) / You let me get tired (Tired) / And the truth is, I didn't end when it was over (Over)," she sings in the pre-chorus. "Baby, it's been over a long time / Didn't end whеn it was over (Didn't end when it was ovеr) / Now the door is closed for closure."

She then repeatedly sings in the chorus: "Should've been walked out this bitch a long time."

By the end of the video, Taylor is laying unconscious on the ground and Pierre lifts her into his arms. As he's dramatically walking away, Taylor holds onto his hand.

"Long Time" is the latest release from Taylor's forthcoming album Escape Room, which will arrive with an accompanying short film in August.

Last week, Taylor released the trailer for the short film — and features Pierre as her onscreen love interest. This time, however, it featured a steamy kissing scene with the star.

Per a release, "the short film acts as a visual representation of the album exploring the ombré effects of life's journey from the darkness of all aspects of heartbreak (i.e. friendships, career, family, etc.) to the lightness of healing."

It continued, "This multi-faceted body of work traces the entire human experience delivering both a relatable and universal piece of art that audiences can make their own. Escape Room ultimately creates a safe space to break free from whatever we need to escape, leaving hurt behind, and reaching healing."

Taylor and Pierre have sparked romance rumors for months, especially after they posted a series of glamorous pics together at the 2025 Oscars. In April, the Coming 2 America star seemingly responded to a sexy snap from Pierre via her Instagram Stories, writing, “on di wey” with an exhaling emoji.

On June 4, Taylor accepted the inaugural Innovator Award at the Apollo Spring Benefit 2025 in Harlem and thanked her inner circle, referring to an unnamed person — whom fans assume is Pierre — as her “apple pie."

Taylor thanked God “for the village you have placed in my life — my mom, my dad, my babies and my apple pie.” Laughing, she added, “I love you all so much. Thank you for loving me the way you do. I would not be the woman that I am today without you. Thank you for being my whole world, my heartbeats, my reason, my examples.”
