Super Bowl LIX Ticket Prices Drop: Early ticket resale market suggests that the Chiefs fatigue may be partially affecting fans

Ticket prices for Super Bowl 59 are expected to be lower than last year but still require thousands of dollars to enter and are among the most expensive games in Super Bowl history, making it a challenging event to attend. The annual

Historical storylines will surround the game, including Kansas City's three-peat and Philadelphia's revenge plan in the Super Bowl 57 rematch. Going to the game live is a must-do, but watching inside the

in New Orleans will be costly.

The early ticket resale market for Super Bowl LIX seems to indicate that some Chiefs fatigue may be affecting fans. Kansas City earned a fifth Super Bowl in six seasons and ticket prices remain relatively modest around $4,600 for the February 9 contest in New Orleans.
Tickets this time represent a bargain compared with entry-level comparables: greater than $7,000 a year ago at last year's Las Vegas Super Bowl and around $6,000 two years ago at Super Bowl LIII in Glendale, Arizona.
The market is reacting differently to the Super Bowl LVII matchup mainly because of some factors such as the similarity in the matchup, and the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans with a peak seating capacity of more than 74,000 dwarfs Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium and Arizona's State Farm Stadium.
The Super Bowl is expected to have higher fan costs this year, despite more tickets being available and fewer flights and hotel rooms, due to record-high travel and hospitality prices in New Orleans. After all, New Orleans is an in-demand market, but it is also hosting a Super Bowl for a record-tying 11th time. That, in turn, creates a very different dynamic than the debut iteration in Las Vegas last year, and one that returns the demand factors more to the competing teams.

On Location, an Endeavor-owned company, has a strong stranglehold on the resale market for Super Bowl tickets. The company acts as the NFL's official hospitality provider, which puts it in control of the availability of ticket inventory. It results in the sales reaching the primary market in limited numbers and at face value. This reduces the dramatic change in the market in the two weeks between the conference championship games and the Super Bowl.

Endeavor is selling Super Bowl tickets with fan experiences such as NFL legend meet-and-greets, tailgate parties, exclusive merchandise, and travel accommodations starting at $6,600 per person. The company is moving On Location to TKO Group Holdings, majority-controlled by Endeavor, consolidating its key sports assets into a single publicly traded company.
