Leche Rio Breogan Lugo (Liga Endesa) agreed terms with 27-year old American swingman Elijah Hughes (198cm-98kg-1998, college: Syracuse). He just played at Cleveland Charge (NBA G League) in the U.S. In 46 games he had 14.8ppg, 3.7rpg and 1.7apg this season. He also spent pre-season at ASP Promitheas Patras (GBL) in Greek league.
In 2020 he was drafted by New Orleans Pelicans (NBA) in second round (39th overall). The former Syracuse University star is in his fifth season in pro basketball.
Hughes is quite experienced player. He has played also professionally in Greece, NBA (Utah Jazz), NBA G League (SLC Stars and Wisconsin Hughesrd), Turkey (Manisa) and NBA Summer League (Orlando Magic, Utah Jazz and Utah Jazz White).
He won NBA Summer League in Salt Lake City championship title in 2021. Hughes played also for East Carolina University for one year.
