Campaigners gathered to further protest against Sizewell C just days before the conclusion of the Spending Review. Supporters of Stop Sizewell C and Together Against Sizewell C (TASC) met for an ‘Outrage’ rally at Sizewell Beach on Saturday, June 7. The weekend rally also paid tribute to former TASC chair and campaigner Pete Wilkinson who died in January of this year. His daughters Emily and Amy spoke at the protest and tied yellow ribbons onto the fence. The protest came ahead of the conclusion of the Spending Review on Wednesday, June 11 where it is believed the government will set out its plans for future investment in Sizewell C.

The Chair of the NFLAs sent a letter of solidarity to the organisers and participants of the Outrage March held 7 June in opposition to the plan to build the monstrous Sizewell C power station in Suffolk. The march and rally were organised by the campaign groups Stop Sizewell C and Together against Sizewell C. Over 300 marchers joined speakers, amongst them Jonathan Porritt, on the beach. The event was held in part in remembrance of the late Pete Wilkinson, a prominent local campaigner with Together Against Sizewell C who sadly passed in January and is much missed in the antinuclear community. Pete’s two daughters Emily and Amy paid a moving tribute to their late father. The protestors were also joined by representatives from Stop Hinkley, Bradwell against New Nuclear Group, and the Low-Level Radiation and Health Conference campaign, and the NFLAs letter was read out to attendees.
